We have only been here for the pumpkins and for Christmas lights. The pumpkins were alot of fun we got the take a hayride to where the pumpkins were, pick a pumpkin and then paint it. Christmas time was beautiful with the lights and train ride. We have walked around a bit too. Not sure how it is on a normally day but the two holiday events were very nice.
Fall Harvest Fest Sunday September 11, 2011 12-4PM. Going to be fun. All things 'CORN' related. Taking your family back to the 1840's and harvest time. My children love this stuff and always have a good time at these historical recreations.
we went for the 1st time this summer and my kids loved it!!! I cant wait to take them next summer. We went on very uncrowded day, and really enjoyed a leaisurely day. Glad we brought a picnic lunch!
very fun.. The pony rides only are there in the summer (the website tells you this!!)
we spent the day walking around/ had a picnic... and we rode the train 4 times, rode the tractor once, and the carosel probably close to 20 times.. my daughter loved it.. its a really good deal, long drive from chicago (aurora) but its for sure do-able... It was a good deal for around 6 bucks!
I was a little bit disappointed in this place. Basically there were train ride, hay ride, a carousel, pedal cars and I believe 6 museums, half of which were closed on the day we went, which is last Sunday. One of the workers told me that pony rides are done for the season??? Why are they done in the beginning of fall? There are very few animals to see and none to pet. Many things are broken. The place is very big and beautiful but there is barely anything going on. They could do so much better. There are much better farms I've been to.
This place is excellent. Cheap, and close to our home. The staff are very friendly. The great thing is you pay admission and can ride the train, merry go round, tractor, horses, etc all you want as many times as you want! My daughter loves the animals and the rides. We go for a few hours at a time, but if your child doesn't nap, you could spend 5-6 hours and just buy lunch there or bring your own picnic lunch! I highly recommend!
I took my 2 1/2 year old and 9 mo old. My older daughter had a great time riding the merry go round and the train. Lots of places to run around. Unfortunately, the pony rides weren't available because some kids had started school (even though it was only mid-August) so call ahead to check! We had a fun day. Is really better for older kids, but even 2 year olds have a lot to do! Great place!!!!
I took two 9 year old boys and two 7 year old girls there this summer. The girls definitely enjoyed it more. The boys were a little old for the train ride and too big for the pony rides. To my suprise, they all said that thier favorite part was the schoolhouse where they learned about school in pioneer days and saw artifacts. Everyone working there was very friendly and knowledgable. Admission and snacks were all very reasonable.
My children love this place. It is a fun place to learn about the "old days" as my kids would call it. They also have pony rides, merry go rounds and lots of things to do and see. Fun for the whole family
My daughter loves this place and I love that she is learning something about history while still getting to have some fun too. Of course, the rides are her favorite. I thought is was reasonably priced and very clean. I want to go back.
A great trip back in time. My kids loved seeing the oldtime coaches and wagons housed at the farm. There is plenty of fun for everyone from the train rides to the carousel and petting zoo.
We took the kids there this past weekend and ended up doing the combo ticket (enterence to the water park as well). Each person was $10.00 regardless of age, but every penny was worth it. It kinda reminded me of Amish Ackers, but much more educational. the kids really enjoyed it and they loved the water park just as much.
