| The Busse Woods Bike Trail is perfect for beginning bikers. It is mostly flat with shorter loops. This makes it uninteresting for serious bikers, so the trail is not full of bikers going fast and being annoyed by children who may wander around the trail a bit. One of the loops goes right around the elk herd in Elk Grove Village, so my daughters really enjoyed stopping to watch them. We also like the trail that goes through Caldwell Woods and ends at the Chicago Botanic Garden. It's a long trail, but you can enter at many different points depending on how far you wish to go. It's nice to bike to the Botanic Gardens since you get in free, can spend some time there, then bike back to your starting point. This trail is full of serious bikers, though, so beware. |
