Plan on spending an entire day here! So much to do. Panning for gold, riding a pony, watching a wild west show, train ride, roping and so much more. I give it a three because the place does need some updating and the pricing for adults is ridiculous.
We went this summer for the first time with my 9 and 6 year olds. We had a blast, stayed the whole day and even had dinner at the restaurant! The show was cute, the old time movies were fun, and the roller coaster was just their speed! They loved panning for gold and shooting the guns. Can be pricey, but we had the 2 free kidwinks tickets. Highly recommend it if you haven't been.
I have a 6 YEAR OLD and whenever we go he never wants to leave. I also have a 13 YEAR OLD who enjoys it too! Its kinda pricey but with the 2 kidwinks free kid tickets you can't beat that and they let me use my entertainment book coupon also for buy adult get 1 free. We have gone the last 3 years and loved it <3 :)
I love this place. We went this year with our Kidwinks free child admission ticket. Without the free ticket it would have been pricey....because they charge $15/person including adults. But, all the kids in our group had a great time. The time went by fast with so much to do. Carousel, hand cars, wild west show, shooting gallery, slingshot range, adventure canoe, archery range, mine car rollercoaster, panning for gold, train and pony rides. This truly is one of Chicago's hidden gems.
Try the Friday night hours. It is not crowded and staff is very friendly. My son and his friend had a great time and were able to do any activity they wanted without a wait.
I recently took the two disabled kids I work with. The staff of mostly college age workers were wonderful. It was a very good value for the money and everything was hands on. I would recommend this for children ages 3 to 10 years of age. We had a good time.
I am a nanny for a 5 year old boy and 3 year old girl. I took them here a few weeks ago, thanks to the free tickets offered by Kidwinks. The children had a blast! They especially enjoyed panning for gold, decorating their own treasure boxes, and the wild west show. I would definitely recommend this place for young children, in the 2-6 range especially. Lots of things to entertain and have fun with! :)
My girls enjoyed themselves. I agree it is a bit pricey when adults have to pay also, on a postive note my girls were able to use up all of my punch card. We stayed and had dinner at the restaurant on a Saturday evening and enjoyed the live entertainment.
We went for the first time and my son loved it. I thought it was expensive for an adult ticket and the adults cannot do all of the activities. My son got to use what I could not. I would have liked to see my west stuff and cowboys. My son wanted a cap toy gun and that was expensive. They did not have many inexpensive items.
We went here this last weekend, thanks to our free tickets from kidwinks! We had gone years ago and figured we would see what was new. Our kids had a lot of fun. It is geared towards younger kids, mine are 10 and 13, but they still had a lot of fun. They have added a roller coaster and canoe ride also. I think they could have panned for "gold" all day, and the nice thing is everything is included with your ticket!
Very expensive. I thought it was ridiculous that the adults had to pay to get in... The park needs some updating, remodeling. The kids had fun, but I felt like I was back in the 50's.
My son loved this place- we went around holloween and they did an awesome job with decorations and fun activites. His favorite part was taking the train to trade beads for a free pumpkin with the indians.
