The DuSable Museum of African-American History is the oldest museum of its type in the country and is the only major independent institution in Chicago established to preserve and interpret the historical experiences and achievements of African-Americans.
This museum provides a great place to teach kids about African-American history. The exhibits are very enlightening and there is no way you can leave there without learning something new. Although history museums may seem to be more for older crowds, it's never too soon to get kids used to learning history. This museum offers a fun and interactive way to do just that.
