The Farm-in-the-Zoo Presented by John Deere gives Chicago kids a chance to experience a bit of the country in the city. Visitors can take part in seasonal gardening demonstrations, see cows, sheep, chickens, pigs and ponies, greet the goats in the goat contact yard and enjoy interactive learning stations in the Main Barn.
The Main Barn is filled with interactive exhibits for guests of all ages. Eggsplore the Nest invites guests to experience “hatching out” of an oversized egg. The Farming & Weather station lets guests experience the rush of a tornado, the crackle of lightning and the rumble of thunder.
The Dairy Barn houses goats and cows, where visitors can learn about the milking process. At the heart of the Farm, the seasonal Edible Garden invites kids to experience hands-on lessons on the origins of food.
My kids enjoyed the petting zoo, I thought it was okay, i've been to better petting zoo's....but its for free so I can't complain. I was scolded for touching the sunflowers...I was just curious!!
i didnt care for this that much. the kids had an ok time. i thought it could have been much better. it was pretty dirty when we went i had to keep telling the kids to watch out where they were stepping and one of my kids hated it. but it was free so i guess that is what you get for free.
