I have been here many times a long time ago but neither have my daughters have gone. That is pretty sad for the 12 year old. I really need to take them both.
It is kind of expensive considering the fact that you spend there half an hour at the most. But the view is great and you must visit it at least once :)
We love going here to get a good view of our city. I love their new glass see thru floors. It is a little scary though. I would not recommend it for young kids who might get really scared. We also love going here or the Sears Tower with out of town guests.
Much like the Sears tower this is another great place to visit, with the fantastic views of the city. Discounts abound, and you are close to restaurants, like Cheesecake Factory or walk around the neighborhood for tons of other ideas. Chicago el stop is nearby. I like Sear tower better.
A great way to see Chicago and it's waterfront. While you are there, stop to eat at the 95th floor restaurant or the Cheesecake Factory in the basement. A great spot for out of town guests, but do look for coupons to cut down on the cost.
Great for out of town guests or if you are downtown and haven't been up there in a while. Not something I would do regularly but it is a must do at least once.
Loved the spectacular view from the top! Would be more worth it, if I had known there were coupons in the Oakley guide, since it can be expensive for a family of four.
I have been going here since i was a little girl and of course had to take my girl there this summer. My 4 year old loved the views and kept saying she was a bird. We went with my parents and everyone seemed to have a great time.
Very thrilling for kids and interesting for adults. My kids ran around and checked out all the views and read some of the information in less than an hour. So, it is a quick trip. If you must drive, I would drive around the block several times and look for a metered space. You can park for 2 hours, which is plenty to get up and back. The parking garages in the area charge at least $15, some $25 for 2 hours. NEVER pay full price at the tower. Check local coupon books for discounts. My kids each had a coupon to get in free that they received from a library summer reading club and I had a half-off coupon I found in a coupon book, so I considered that total cost great. If you have time, there is a very nice courtyard with a restaurant (Cheesecake Factory) with tons of outdoor seating that looks at a small garden and waterfall on Michigan Avenue. We had ice cream and sat on some steps near the fountain. There are no Metra trains that are close to this area, and the closest subway stop is near Chicago and State (a good 5-6 block walk).
The view from the top is great, including a new outside viewing area. The displays are not geared towards children although they enjoyed seeing the beach, pools on the top of buildings and the ferris wheel at Navy Pier. The Oakley guide coupons were a great discount but it was still expensive for a short amount of time and very little entertainment for the kids.
