Northbrook Court's Tree House serves not only as the center's play area for children, but also as a central gathering place. The Tree House features areas and activities that encourage kids to play with other kids, climb, slide, problem-solve and use their imagination.
For safety reasons, the Tree House is for guests under 8 years old and under 46" tall.
Along with other mall play areas, this is not for young toddlers. My 20 month old loves this type of thing, but the 'older' kids play too rough and run around and can hurt the little kids. I've noticed the moms don't really keep an eye on their kids and rather use it to let their kids run around wild while they sip their Starbucks.
This is a great place to bring the kids when you have some errands to run in the mall. It is somewhat tiny and get very crowded. I am a little nervouse when my little one (3) is playing anf the bigger kids are running around. I wish they would monitor the gaes of the kids that play there and parents would watch the way their kids are playing. Little ones can get hurt with some of the play that goes on.
I have had several lunchtime playdates at the Treehouse. The kids have fun playing for a little while before and after lunch. Plenty of food places to choose from. Great during inclement weather!
From a parent's eye, it looks kind of neat, but my son could run and run and run around in this thing.Starbucks and other food places are right there, so parents can take a break and still watch their kids. Great free/ cheap entertainment during winter months.
Pair it with a movie at the mall, and you're set for the day.
I have gone there several times. Great meeting place to meet up with other moms and kids. The fence helps keep the kids contained. We've then gone to the food court for lunch. Love going on a not so nice day, let the kids get a little exercise.
There are times that this area can be a madhouse and pretty dangerous if your child is under 5. There are spots that you can have a tough time following your child every second and he/she could easily get pushed by many of the rambunctious kids. My son loves to go there right after his Gymboree class and even though he stands his own rather well, I watch him very carefully so he doesn't get run over by 7 year olds.
fun indoor activity for rainy days. closed in space surrounded by eateries and coffee shop. parents can watch kids closely and still feel like an adult.
