The Lattof YMCA has been dedicated to serving the communities of Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, Arlington Heights, Prospect Heights, Elk Grove Village and Park Ridge for 49 years. My son had his 6th birthday party here and it was a huge success. All of the kids had a great time!! The staff was fantastic and very helpful. I would highly recommend this place.
Had my daughter's 5th birthday party and was very pleased. Staff was helpful, price was reasonable, and the kids had a great time running around and playing in the play structure. The staff also organized some parachute games which was a good diversion and helped wrangle kids in for cake.
This is the most family-friendly YMCA I've ever visited. Between the party options, free childcare with family membership, cool things like maze and rock climbing, plus all the normal stuff, it's really great. Three pools! Just be sure to check pool hours before going; they change frequently because of classes starting/ending. The place is clean, and the staff are nice. The only thing I don't like so much is the women's locker room. I've definitely seen nicer ones.
My daughter had her 7th birthday party here, and it was a huge success. We did a water party, where the kids got to go through a huge floating obstacle course set up in the pool. They LOVED it, and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. They were also very safety conscious, with two lifeguards in the pool with the girls, and one outside. They have a really cute island-themed party area overlooking the pools, with grass hut roof. Really fun and cute. My daughter still talks about that party, over a year later.
My nephew had his birthday party here. The kids were able to use the rock climbing wall and just played all over the gym. It is a great play for a birthday party.
This is actually a great place to have birthday parties (particularly for a pre-school aged child). The have a big maze that the children can play on and it really does wear them out and occupy their time for at least an hour. They also have a back party room that you can use and bring in your own food. It is pretty reasonably priced (you do not have to be a member) so it is a great alternative to some of the other more expensive options. The kids have a great time and it doesn't necessarily break the bank.
The Latoff YMCA has a very friendly staff, they offer family nights with free Rock climbing, aerobics classes that are free with membership and a great indoor maze for the kids. The indoor track and indoor soccer field are nice and during the day usually not crowded. The three pools are nice; one is for lap swim and the other two have open swim, one of the pools is perfect for small children - warm, not deep and plenty of space for other families. On family nights they bring out an inflatable or log rolling.
