I love contemporary art but the kids find it boring. There are some exhibits that caught their attention but for the most part, leave the kids at home and go with a bunch of friends or on a date with your hubby. You'll have more fun.
This is one of my favorite places in Chicago but you MUST check out what exhibits are i place before you take the kids. Or be prepared to cover the kids' eyes. The Warhol exhibit was fantastic, but there was some art that was not appropriate. There are family days, outdoor activities, and more. Free Tuesdays in June, July and August. I think the kids respond well to a lot of the modern art, and the gift shop has a lot of cool stuff for people of all ages. Right off the Chicago el stop too.
