Perhaps we went on the wrong day.... but this zoo was a total bust. We only saw a few animals--but none of the cool ones, like the cougar or foxes. If you are not close to Aurora, I wouldn't bother.
This is a great way to spend a nice afternoon at no cost. I took the 4 yr old I watch to the zoo and the large playground. We packed a lunch and ate it by the lake. The grounds are well cared for and I like that the website has activities like a scavenger hunt to make the zoo a learning experience.
I wish I lived closer to this!! Family fun for free!! The zoo is nicely landscaped and the animals have nice living quarters and look happy. Even better that there is a park with various levels of playgrounds for the kids to play afterwards. Nice picnic areas too!! Beautiful sunken garden to view while you are there too!! Great place for all ages!! :)
We love this zoo! It's the perfect size for smaller kids, has a very large park next to it and now has a splash pad that is nice in the warm weather. Plus, it's free! There is also a train that they have during the warmer months to take you around the zoo and a small mastedon museum.
It is really a great place for the younger kids. We went to Brookfield zo with my 2 year old and she couldn't make it through everything but this is just the right size for her before she gets bored or tired. Best of all it is FREE!!!! Great place my 5 year old loved it too....
This is a nice small zoo & good place to take the kids for a couple hours. It even has a small reptile house. It is more animals that are native to this area, not farm animals like Cosley Zoo. There is a huge playground out back for the kids to play at also. It's never busy or super crowded. Great for a nice relaxing visit.
This a small zoo so you do not have to spend all day here. And you can spend as long as you want because it is FREE. We went to a nearby park afterwards to complete our day.
A nice, free zoo. Small, with a nice park and playground nearby. The indoor reptile house is a fun stop. Also, the visitor center has the bones of a mastodon discovered at the park.
