Sholes School is a typical one-room country school used today as a living museum for students and their teachers. A full curriculum, circa 1900, is available for classes who wish to reenact a day at Pioneer Sholes School.

Pioneer Sholes School is open for visits from the general public at the following times:

Sundays in mid-June to mid-October: 1-4pm
Christmas Open House: First Sunday in December, afternoon
Other hours available by appointment.

My kids have visited this great little school on field trips and it's always a big hit with them. Neat little place and they especially loved the schoolhouse teacher that showed them how the "naughty" kids had to use the dunce cap back in the day!! Educational and fun, I would recommend calling in advance as they are not always open. Pack a lunch and you can picnic on the grounds or take a little hike in the woods.
