A fun place for children to learn and play is the Westfield Play Space. Kids can climb and explore the bright, colorful play area with animal characters and plenty of space to sit and play with other children. The Play Space is located lower-level JCPenney.

Children are required to be supervised by an adult at all times.

Great play space! More malls should follow suit. Great family bathroom, especially great for nursing mothers!

Very good play area. My kids really enjoy it and it is a nice way for they to move around. They also keep it clean and have sched. cleaning times. Totally enclosed to your dont have to worry about the escaping child.

If you live in the Vernon Hills area you may take for granted what a great mall you have in Hawthorne. I have traveled all over the country and know my malls and kids play areas. Hawthorne is one of the MOST kid friendly malls anywhere. The play space is very clean, bright and colorful with something fun for even the littlest one. There is a table and chair area to sit and have a snack or let mommy relax with her packages and read a magazine. There are 50 cent rides next to the area that add for more excitement. Don't forget to stop by the mall office and sign up for the Westfield Wednesdays member values where you can save big at merchants in the mall on Wednesdays. It's free and will save you a bundle!
