Come to SciTech, where science is an adventure! Over 200 engaging, hands-on exhibits and daily science shows will intrigue you and your family. The museum is not open everyday, so please click on View Website above to check the schedule.
The Museum is also a place where Scouts can camp overnight and earn achievement badges and pins; and where schools can enjoy fieldtrips.
I helped chaperone my daughter's 3rd grade class's field trip here, and the kids loved it. They did not take the time to read the signs explaining the science concepts behind the exhibits because they were having too much fun just doing them. None of the kids wanted to leave, and none of them were bored. This is a great place to visit with kids who are getting too old for the childrens' museums. There is also a separate play area for the younger kids (age 6 and under). There are 3 floors of exhibits, and well worth a visit.
Tons of hands on stuff for the kids (well... and adults too!). We spent a good portion of the day at the museum and finally had to drag the kids away. Almost kicking and screaming. The kids really enjoyed the bubble making and rocket launching. We spent a lot of time upstairs consumed by all the puzzles. The staff periodically put on an experiment/show for the kids. The price was right and we even found some coupons too.
Excellent attraction for kids of all ages! Many exhibits similar to other museums but this is much better priced. In fact, we obtained a family year long pass for $6 more so we could use it there, the Discovery Museum in Milwaukee & the one in Belividere, IL.
Be sure to eat a good meal prior as their isn't a place to eat inside, however it's hours of fun, so snacks outside are a given later in the day.
After leaving SciTech from a 3 hour visit, my eldest daughter said "Dad, you have to give this place a 5 wink rating". You know, kids are always right! We had a great time at SciTech on our visit and the only reason we left was to get some lunch. This place was very nice, clean, well maintained and staffed, and my 6 and 8 year old girls were never bored. The $8 admissions price was very reasonable and we definitely got our money's worth when compared to some of the other alternatives we considered. We arrived just after SciTech opened on a gloomy Saturday morning and had the place all to ourselves for about the 1st 45 minutes. It never got crowded and my girls could explore everything at their own pace. Even though they are a little young to understand all of the scrience concepts behind some of the exhibits, they still enjoyed the ability to interact and explore while doing a little learning.
My girls said they would like to go again.
Great educational activities for kids. Mine were very entertained, and there are activities for every age level. My children loved timing baseball throws and learning about weather. Opening seems to be the best time to avoid crowds and find parking. heck their website for discounted admission coupons.
This is a hands-on experience. My kids spent most of their time shooting a pressurized foam rocket, encasing their bodies in a bubble and pressing buttons to make a hot air balloon rise. And that was just on the main floor. The museum is small, but by no means lacking things to do. Worth the drive from the city and a gem for Aurora-area residents.
The kids had a blast. They enjoyed the electricity show, and all the hands on exhibits. We were there for 4 hours and didn't even realize it.
There are a lot to do in this 3 level museum, however, the layout is very kid friendly, very open and spacious so parents can see the whole floor and easily keep an eye on the kids. We went friday morning when they first opened, it was not busy, just a handfull of people so it was nice.
