Sonny Acres is known as a pumpkin farm where family and friends can enjoy a pleasant fall outing together in celebration of harvest time. From mid-September through October 31, Sonny Acres is host to family fun and activities. Hay rides, haunted houses, amusement rides, cotton candy, roasted corn, and much more. We also stock a wide variety costumes from traditional to hot seasonal items and accessories for your costume. See website for detail on the activities offered for kids and family.
This farm also offers tours, group outings for schools and scouts, sells Christmas trees in the winter, plants in the spring and summer. See website for more information on seasonal activities at this farm in the Chicago suburbs.
Great place to walk around in the Fall, the kids enjoy the pumpkins and the costume shop. Lots of masks and Halloween fun there. Bit pricey, but it's fun once a year.
My daughter went with her preschool class and she had fun. I think I would only let her go with a class because when I saw you needed to have tickets (pay) to get into the play area, which had 2 slides (that were very dangerous because the kids were coming down to fast), sandbox, a tunnel, rope swings, and wooden cutouts, I would not spend the money. I can take her to a better park by my house for free. She got to go on the hayride which she liked the most and she was able see the farm animals. For a family on a tight budget (which we are) this is not the place for me.
My kids loved it. Had a lot of different activities for the kids. A bit pricey, but we usually do it once a year. If you can go during the week it is better, it gets crowded on the weekends
Took my son here and boy did he love it. He absolutly loved the rides. The food is a bit pricey. It does get crowded but I found a parking space quick and the only thing I really waited in line for was the pony rides everything else had a quick line
We took our 22 month old daughter last Saturday. The place was clearly filled to capacity if you judge by the parking lot but we noticed that we didn't feel crowded inside the farm at all. DD loved the carousel and giant slide athough she didn't like being on the pony ride at all. The lady that was running the bouncy was really good about sorting the kids into groups of bigger and littler ones so that the little ones didn't get hurt even though one big kids' mom was very rude to her about it. The employees that we encountered were very helpful and friendly. Tickets and even the food prices were very reasonable. We had a great time! THe only thing keeping it from being a 5 is the parking lot. THey need to find another way to control the foot traffic so you don't feel like you're going to run over a stray child when your driving through the lot. Since parents didn't seem to want to watch and control their children, SA might need to find another was to get walkers in and out to avoid a tragedy.
We love this pumpkin patch. We have taken our daughter the last two years. Last year she was old enough to remember - and she has been reminding us that we need to go since October 2009! They have activities for children of all ages and did I mention the funnel cake???
We take the kids here numerous times every fall for the Halloween festivals. We appreciate that they have it set up all of October, which not only helps with crowds but is an "option" any nice day in October. The rides are fairly priced (especially since you don't pay to get in) and our pumpkins were reasonably priced. It's not as big as Gobberts, but it's a perfect place for the family!!!!!
Its a bit on the pricey side but its a lot of fun during their fall festival. We love the haunted trail ride and the haunted house, and my son REALLY likes the petting zoo. I'd pass on getting my pumpkins there, much cheaper at the grocery store, but its fun to browse the shops.
A really nice place to have some fall fun! It was really crowded on a nice fall weekend, and I didn't like the ticket method for rides (would prefer to pay one price for a bracelet or something) because it would have caused less disappointed. Although, the ticket method does teach them to "budget" their fun. There is a TON to do here and our kids had a blast.

Definitely gets overcrowded on weekends during the fall fest time, but the kids love it. We can spend a lot of time walking thru all the attractions and playing adn we take A LOT of pictures! Always need to find the sign "How tall this year" and take a pic!
I love, love this place! And believe it or not I grew up going here, its been there a long time!!!! I use to go with Camp Fire as well as my family. My favorite was the haunted house and the Halloween store with all the scary life like costumes , as well as hot cider, caramel apples and finding the perfect pumpkin. I am definitely taking my daughter this year, she is now 4yrs.old and I think she will love it!
