We home school and farm in a chemical-free way. We share the work. We try hard to be stewards of the earth. Our camps will encourage immersion into farm life and our goal is to heighten children’s awareness of nature that is around them and to foster responsibility, caring for each other and creativity.

The camps will be open to elementary school-aged children. A mixture of ages is encouraged so that sharing will occur at a variety of levels. An ideal number of children per camp will be six.

“Kinkoona” means “Laughter” in Australian Aboriginal. We hope this will be a large part of the camp experiences.

Days: The camps will extend for 3 days each, on a Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday sequence.

Hours: The hours of the camp are from 8.30am to 4.00pm daily.

My boys love going to camp at Kinkoona Farm. Suellen is an amazing woman and quite an inspiration. The kids are given really things to do on the farms and they get to interact with the animals too which is the best part.

I found out about this farm camp via an email from a Winter's Farmers Market I attended at my church this winter. I was intrigued by the description and decided to try it. My daughters attended Camp Two and LOVED it! Suellen couldn't be more gracious and supportive of the children. There were 10 kids in the camp ranging in age from 4 (my daughter) to 12, and Suellen always had the perfect job for them that stretched a little beyond what they thought they could do, yet were able to accomplish. A real confidence builder. My husband and I stayed at a hotel in Brodhead (EarthRider - I highly recommend this unique hotel above a bike shop!). After dropping off the girls at the farm, we bicycled the beautiful bicycle trails, explored the cute towns, and had nice, kid-free lunches. Then we'd pick up the girls (who were filthy, exhausted and ecstatic) and relax at the local pool. It was one of the best getaways we've had: Only 2 hours from home, hubby and I got time alone while the girls were occupied, and then we had family time in the evenings. Really, I can't recommend it highly enough. The girls began asking when they could go back from the time we picked them up on their last day at the farm.
