We have been at Language Stars for a while now and really like it. The immersion studios that they are offering this summer are lots of fun--tie-dying, build-a-bear, etc...for about $75 for each workshop. The summer camp classes have also been moved at our location to the grounds of a private school which will allow for lots of variety and space. I have read the above reviews and would say that in the 3 years we have been with L.S., the teachers have NEVER changed mid-session--the only times there was ever a sub were when the teacher was ill that day. Yes, it is a lot of money to put aside, though.

We were enrolled for about a year in the parent/child classes. It is expensive but the native teachers are great and the very structured programs are aimed at repetition and keeping kids' attention. For new parents- no English at all in these classes. The problem is disruption and inconsistency- people walk in late, the teachers change mid session, the students are often different each class. At the young toddler age, it can be disconcerting and many get upset and frustrated which can often resonate through the class. to be successful, you definitely need to keep up with it at home to supplement the classes. Classrooms are also a bit small and cramped. Parking is easy- indoor, free lot. Generous make-up policy. Program gave us a good foundation but we ended up going with a private tutor/babysitter a few times a week and have watched our daughter's language grow tremendously.

I was going to sign up here but they wanted $600 for the year. That is a lot of money for learning a language. We'll do it in school.

We love Language Stars! My 4 and 2 year old both take French there, and I am so thrilled that I could start them in the language this young. I was working with them at home, but to have a class with a native speaking French teacher and to learn cultural information and to do cultural activities along with the "funimmersion" of the language is the best! Yes, it is pricy, but its very worth the investment. In a globalized society such as ours the knowledge of a second language is imperative and I know the investment in the future is worth it. Vive le Language Stars!

I have two boys that take classes at Language Stars' Wilmette location and the LOVE it! My oldest (8 yrs) is learning French and Mandarin and my middle boys (5 yrs) is learning Mandarin. They truly have amazing teachers. They are all native speakers, engaged, excited to teach and VERY kid friendly. Even though the classes are 85 minutes, my kids stay engaged for the entire class. We started taking classes at Language Stars because of their full-immersion program. It works! Our five year old has been taking for almost a year, and can already respond in complete sentences. I have also found the staff at Language Stars to be extremely helpful and flexible. They are always willing to help us reschedule a class, or even try a new language for free! The reason they let you try a lesson or two for free is because they believe in their program and outstanding teachers.

I would really love to do this and checked this place out but they are so expensive. I just can't see spending that kind of money for language classes.
