Kidwinks has participated in the Chicago Toy and Game Fair the last two years. It's a wonderful opportunity to come out and preview and play some new toys and games. At some booths you can even meet the inventors of the toys. There are roving Star Wars characters, life size games and lots of giveaways. A fun day! Kidwinks will not have a booth there this year, but I'll be there with my family! My girls are looking forward to it!
This looks like it could be so much fun! We've never been but as a family we are so interested in games to do together that have a learning and sharing component to them.
The toy and game fair is more then wonderful. My family loved it, espcailly the fact it is hands on.You will honestly have a fun time with your entire family. Just hold on to your husbands, i lost mine a few times!!
This show is the toy equivalent of the Candy Expo for candy freaks but the great thing is, the public is allowed to see the products in this one! GO and try not to spend a lot of money BUT bring hand sanitizers and lots of it! Especially these days!!!!
The Chicago Toy and Game Fair is for anyone who loves toys!!! The public is allowed to preview the latest toys and since Christmas is around the corner this would be a great event for all ages.
I am a teacher and mother who has supported the Chicago International Toy and Game Fair for several years. What I love most about it is the hands on philosophy. Exhibitors do want you to touch, explore, and play with their products. There are many activities for children. I highly encourage participation in the World Geography Bee on Saturday (interested youngsters can sign up to play when they enter the fair) and the Young Inventors' Challenge (partcipants must register now for that). From an educator's standpoint, the games can easily be used to support academic standards and from a parent's view, all products show creativity. One final note- teachers, you can earn CPDUs by attending the Educator's Forum.
The Chicago Toy and Game Fair is great fun for everyone, but especially for families with kids age two and up. We had a lot of fun because we went with another family. We had enough adults and older kids so that we could split up and take advantage of all the things to do. Some would go off with the younger kids, which allowed the rest of us to sit for awhile and play the games aimed at teens and adults. We also switched off with the kids so that the adults could secretly check out possible Christmas gifts. So you can kill two birds with one stone by going to the Fair. It's a fun and easy way to spend a day with your family, plus you can do some holiday shopping. And it's inside, so it's warm. It helps if you can park at Navy Pier so that you can leave your coats and purchases in your car.
