Young Eagles is a program offered by the EAA to introduce young people to general aviation. What better way to discover the joys of flying than to actually go for a free ride in a plane!!
Since 1992, more than 1.5 million kids have been flown by nearly 40,000 volunteer pilots. Chapter 579's pilots, supported by ground staff, have flown more than 15,000 young people from the Aurora Airport.
Rides are given from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM (Weather Permitting) on the following dates in 2012:
Although we had to wait for quite awhile this was a phenomenal experience! The people who work this event were very helpful to my son in helping him overcome his anxiety about flying and he said it was the best time of his life! Thanks EAA chapter 579! We will definitely go again.
