D'Agostino's Pizzeria and Pub has been successfully serving and delivering pizzas, traditional Italian dishes and much more to residents of the north side of Chicago since Joe and Jan D'Agostino opened the doors in 1968. Within walking distance of Wrigley Field, the D'Agostino name is well-known to Chicagoans and patrons as "the best thin crust pizza in Wrigleyville". Because of its growing popularity, Joe and his two sons, decided to open additional restaurant locations to further serve the masses. The second location is in the River West neighborhood of Chicago, and is managed by Joe's youngest son, Scott. His eldest son, Jeff, manages the newest and first suburban location, D'Agostino's Pizzeria at The Glen. The Park Ridge location opened in April 2010. D'Agostino's is family-owned, family-operated, and family-friendly!
My grandson loves going there to see the train. We went there several times for that reason but we are not that crazy about the food. Sort of like fast food instead of the old Italian pizzaria quality of yesterday.
I'm a bit torn on this review since I've been here previous times and had a decent time and service but this time around, I was just disappointed.
Strictly on the food quality, the neat section for kids to pick up books to play with, and the selection of variety for food, this place has the potential to be a four star restaurant especially since it's so close to The Glen and it's right across from the Glenview Metra station.
However, service is a bit lacking - when we were seated, it took two tries for them to respond to our request for menus. They also forgot to give us our silverware. After they served us our appetizers, they still forgot to hand it to us. We had to ask a third time and wait a good five minutes after our appetizer was served before we finally got our napkin and flatware. The food was decent but just disappointed in our service.
We like this new addition to Park Ridge. The outdoor seating is nice, although practically in the parking lot. pizza is great and the kids love the train around the perimeter of the main dining area. Service for us has been hit-or-miss, but mostly good. Broasted chicken is a family favorite.
What a great addition to Park Ridge. They have a couple of booths which is great for keeping the kids corralled. And OMG Smarty Pants the balloon maker is incredible! They also have outdoor seating which will be great in the summer time. The staff was super friendly and attentive.
Great addition to the restaurant options in Park Ridge! Really good pizza! Flat screen tvs and two very cool trains running around tracks suspended from the ceiling. I highly recommend going on Thursday evening to catch the best balloon guy I've ever seen - Smarty Pants.
