This sushi restaurant is located in Park Ridge, but given its fashionable art deco decor, exposed brick walls and wood floors, it could just as well be downtown Chicago or New York. Standouts include the tempura shrimp-stuffed dragon roll, crazy crunch roll with tuna, salmon, yellow tail, cucumber, avocado, spicy ginger, tempura, and red tobiko on the outside, and the godzilla roll with spicy mayo, red, black orange and green tobiko, tempura shrimp, unagi, cucumber, tempura crunchies, avocado, and unagi sauce. Those not in the mood for sushi can indulge in a wide array of not-very-Japanese-sounding specials ($15-$23 with soup or salad), including a grilled NY strip steak with teriyaki sauce and fresh vegetables with miso soup and rice and a tempura entree with shrimp and vegetable tempura served with homemade dipping sauce . A special children's sushi platter features mostly cooked rolls and a few small pieces of raw fish.

Do you like to go out and be able to take your children with? Maki Sushi is very kid friendly with a specific childrens menu. My 3 year old enjoys edamame, rice and miso soup. I have noticed more and more parents bringing in their kids. This is a great date or couples only date night place as well. The food is absolutely delicious. If you haven't given it a try you should! Service is sometimes a bit slow but we have our favorite server that knows us and is timely.
Best sushi without having to travel downtown. My husband and I go here often on Saturday nights and really like the food. Sometimes the drinks are a little weak, so I usually specify how strong I like my drinks when I order. I brought my 6 year old once for lunch and she liked it. She is an adventurous eater. I'm not sure how a finicky child would react.
Great sushi! Their menu also offers traditional "chinese" food. Excellent martini's! Best chocolate martini in the Chicago area! Be sure to try the lychee martini. It is Southeast Asian fruit I have never had before and it is scrumptious. The kids menu is also very good. I always get my children the Yaki Tori, which is 2 chicken terriaki skewers, white rice and fries. I swap the fries for steamed broccoli. The kids love it. And then to finish the meal, green tea ice cream! Delic!!
