Buy bike helmets for $10 each at the Lutheran General Children's Health Resource Center:

Various sizes available (toddler, youth, adult)
Designer colors/graphics
Free helmet fittings with purchase
Youth and adult multi-sport helmets also available.

Go to the Yacktman Pavilion, take elevator to second floor and inquire further about helmets in The Metrick Pediatric Library.

Helmets are sold in partnership with the Advocate Lutheran General Hospital Trauma Service.

When my daughter turned two she had to have a bike just like her older cousins. Being worried about falls a friend recommended the helmet fitting at Lutheran General. I am so glad we went the woman who worked with us was great she made sure that the helmet fit being that she was little we tried several before we found the correct fit. She added padding to make sure that it was just perfect for her. They even allow you to bring the helmet back for a check up and they will resize the old helmet if it will still work. I highly recommend this service. Ten dollars is well worth it.

I saw this on Kidwinks too! It was pretty quick and easy, but you have to make an appointment. My daughter was excited to get her first bike helmet and I need to go back because my son has grown out of his. I liked that the technician took her time to make sure the helmet fit my daughter's head correctly and loved the $10 price tag!

So glad I saw this on Kidwinks! My 3 yr olds head is bigger than average and I have a hard time getting the right helmet. The people there were great & she even got to play in the "emergency room"

We bought helmets here for ourselves and for our daughter 3 years ago, and it was great. We were each fitted individually, and had a nice choice of colors/designs to choose from. We were in a hurry when we needed a replacement helmet for her, so had to go to a store, but we'll definitely return here for the next helmet we need.
