The company's philosophy has remained unchanged for more than 100 years since its establishment by John W. Nordstrom in 1901: offer the customer the best possible service, selection, quality and value.
Went back for their sale on winter coats. Got a nice full length one and a shorter one at great prices. Even with kid's clothes, if they have a sale, it is worth it. Otherwise, overpriced.
YOU MUST BUY YOUR KIDS' SHOES AT NORDSTROMS--END OF STORY!! The liberal return policy, the selection, the trained staff, etc...not to mention the balloons, the giant fish tank, and the crayons/coloring pages!
The quality is always good, but they are way overpriced. Nordstrom has a great reputation for customer service, and that's true but I'd rather head up to Gurnee and hit the outlet mall and save about 50% off the prices here.
This is a very nice Nordstrom. The children's shoe and clothing area is very nice. A bit small compared to OakBrook but nevertheless, still accommodating. We have done Easter Egg Breakfast here which is very, very nice. They serve a wonderful breakfast and they you hunt for eggs throughout the children's department. The bunny comes too and pictures are a must. Very nice traditional fun.
When we go to Nordstrom, we always go to the kids shoe dept...they are happy to check sizes since little one's feet grow so fast. Shoes are moderate to expensive, but they sell all the big brands and are good quality. Restrooms are very clean and good for diaper changes/nursing.
We went to Nordstrom to purcahse my daughters first pair of walking shoes and it was fantastic! They made it an event that made her excited about her shoes. Not only did the sales person measure her feet, but they played ring around the rosie so she could watch the fit. Then another employee came to double check the fit. My daughter left with a balloon, a picture in her new shoes and a "Nordy" stuffed animal. My daughter also left there proud of her new shoes. She kept touching them & feeling the toes & sides just like the sales people. We spent the same amount of money as we would have at the kids shoe store in the mall, but we had a much better experience!
